Self checking suspicious lesions
What to look for
Most skin cancers can be successfully treated when detected early. Becoming familiar with your skin and monitoring it regularly is one of the most effective ways to protect your long-term skin health.

Be alert for:
A new spot that was not there before
A spot that is growing, changing, or spreading
A sore that does not heal
A lesion that bleeds, crusts, or becomes itchy
A spot that looks noticeably different from your other moles ("the ugly duckling sign")
